MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES:
- Local Community Services Board Directory, also known as a Behavioral Health Authority in some communities (CSB/BHA), your local CSB/BHA provides support to individuals with mental health challenges, substance use disorders and intellectual disability (ID) and/or developmental disability (DD).
- Local Chapter of NAMI Directory. NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.
- Tips and resources from the VA Department of Health on Coping with Stress and Staying Connected.
- 80 affordable (or free) mental health apps, websites, hotlines and resources. Keep this list handy for whenever you need support.
- MentalHealth.gov provides one-stop access to U.S. government mental health and mental health problems information.
- Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services – Same Day Access to Mental Health Services.
- VA C.O.P.E.S is a call line available to all Virginia residents who may be struggling to cope with the effects and circumstances such as isolation, fear, grief and anxiety around COVID 19. Call or text 877-349-6428.
- Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide. The mission of the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide is to reduce the number of youth suicides and attempted suicides by encouraging public awareness through the development and promotion of educational training programs.
- Kids Health. Provides interactive health related information for parents, kids, teens, and educators on hundreds of physical, emotional, and behavioral topics — from before birth through the teen years.

VHF FINANCIAL ASSITANCE PROGRAM: During this stressful time we want you to know that we are here to help! VHF provides financial assistance to those who need it and we are currently accepting applications to help pay for expenses incurred in the care, treatment, or prevention of an inherited bleeding disorder, basic living expenses, and more. COLBURN-KEENAN FOUNDATION’S (CKF) CHARITABLE GIVING PROGRAM: Colburn-Keenan Foundation’s (CKF) charitable giving program provides assistance to individuals and families impacted by inherited bleeding disorders. Here are current opportunities for support:
- Individual Financial Assistance Grant – Individuals and families can apply to CKF for financial assistance, up to $2,000, to meet urgent needs. Go here to learn more.
- Emergency Assistance Grant – Individuals and families can apply to CKF for financial assistance, up to $500, to cover an unexpected bill such as a car repair, appliance repair, high electric bill, etc. Go here to download application.
