RICHMOND – HACA & VABDF Advocacy Education Summit

June 27 - June 28
RSVP HERE BY MAY 28!

HACA & VABDF Advocacy Education Summit: An educational weekend for all ages! Are you ready to make an impact? Join HACA and VABDF for a weekend of advocacy training in Richmond. Learn to use your voice to impact legislation that affects the lives of people living with bleeding disorders.

GO BEHIND THE SCENES
Saturday | 11:00 AM: To kick off the weekend join us for an optional lunch and guided tour of the historic Virginia State Capitol.

GET EMPOWERED
Saturday | 1:30 PM: We’ll move over to the Hilton Richmond Downtown to join advocates from across Virginia. We have some great local and national speakers lined up to share tips on effective advocacy. We’ll cover things like:Telling your story: Practical tips and practice sessions to help you feel confident, Navigating hurdles: What to do when you’re facing insurance denials or formulary changes, and Advocacy at home: We’ll show you how to find your legislators’ contact info and how to set up meetings in your own town – no need to drive to Richmond to make a difference! Saturday night, we’ll host an educational dinner, and hotel rooms are available for HACA/VABDF members.

SOMETHING FOR ALL AGES
We really want this to be an event with something for all ages so we’ve set up specific tracks for adults, teens, and kids, plus childcare for the little ones. We’re also mixing in some fun to keep the energy up (the kids will love the on-site video game truck!).

This event includes educational programs, scheduled meals, community activities, and overnight accommodations for constituents living within the HACA & VABDF coverage area.

Thank you to our current advocacy sponsors and supporters: CSL Behring, EveryLife Foundation, Genentech, Hemophilia Alliance, National Bleeding Disorders Foundation, Novo Nordisk, PhRMA and Takeda.

Optional: Sunday, June 28 Community Event at TopGolf Richmond
After a busy Saturday, we’ll head over to Top Golf Richmond on Sunday. It’s a great chance to get active with your family and enjoy some friendly competition. While we’re there, you can visit with our sponsors to hear about the latest treatments and therapies. Golf is a safe, healthy activity for our community, and we’d love to end the weekend outside and moving with all of you.
