Who Can Attend: Camp Youngblood is open to children ages 7–17 who live within the Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area (HACA) or Virginia Hemophilia Foundation (VHF) coverage areas and meet one or more of the following criteria:
About Camp Youngblood: Camp Youngblood is a week-long overnight summer camp funded by HACA and VHF. It offers children and teens from the inherited bleeding disorders community a traditional camp experience in a safe, supportive environment. Campers enjoy classic camp activities while forming lasting friendships with peers who share similar life experiences.
Hosted at Camp Holiday Trails (CHT) a year-round camp serving children with medical needs and their siblings. Camp Youngblood provides 24/7 on-site medical care to ensure each camper’s individual needs are met. Campers must be socially, emotionally, behaviorally and developmentally able to participate in group activities.
Cost: $50 non-refundable application fee per camper. This fee is charged after your application is reviewed and enrollment is confirmed by CHT via an enrollment email sent from CHT’s Director of Programs, Caitlin Carroll.
If the fee is a barrier, please reach out, financial aid and payment plans are available.
How to Apply: Complete the pre-screening eligibility survey (required for all applicants, including returning campers). Within one week, eligible families will receive a link to the official Camp Youngblood application, managed by Camp Holiday Trails (CHT).

Cancellation Policy: We understand that plans can change and Camp Youngblood has a flexible, no-questions-asked cancellation policy for emergencies or illness. The $50 registration fee though will not be refunded.

CHT Immunization Policy: All standard childhood immunizations are required (per the American Academy of Pediatrics). For the safety of all campers, only medical exemptions will be considered. All exemptions must include documentation from a licensed physician (MD, NP, or PA) and receive approval from CHT’s Medical Director.
