HACA/VHF Family Retreat Virtual Education Series
July 6, 2020 - July 10, 2020
Join the families of the Hemophilia Association of the Capital Area (HACA) and the Virginia Hemophilia Foundation (VHF) for our Family Retreat Virtual Education Series.
These educational opportunities are for families who live within HACA/VHF territory. Each session must be signed up for individually, you do not have to sign up for all in order to participate. These sessions are free and open to VHF constituents, any constituent under the age of 12 will need adult supervision to participate.
FAMILY EDUCATION WEBINAR:

Topic: Setting Educational Expectations
Presenter: Xaviette Pointer-Kincy, M.Ed, Community Relations and Education Manager for Sanofi Genzyme for the WV, VA, DC area
Ever wonder how to build an academic plan for your child? We’ll explore the world of education for a child with a bleeding disorder, including the impact of setting expectations at home and having a proactive relationship with your child’s school. Recognizing that we may experience guilt, social obstacles, and absenteeism, we’ll discuss ways to help establish clear goals, positive routines, individualized health care plans, and a cycle of responsibility and self-advocacy.

Join VHF, HACA and Camp Holiday Trails (CHT) for exclusive virtual sessions in honor of Camp Youngblood and Family Camp! Program Director McKenzie has planned fun live and recorded activities so you can bring the magic of Camp home. You won’t want to miss the infusion clinic scheduled for Tuesday and be sure to gather with us on Thursday for the virtual campfire.

As we gather virtually to discuss, share and learn, we ask that all VHF virtual program participants be thoughtful in their interactions and follow video meeting etiquette and rules of engagement. Disruptions to a session may lead to the removal and/or disabling of the participant’s video and microphone for part of or for the entire session.
