VHF is thrilled that the 75th Annual NHF BDC will take place in National Harbor, Maryland (DC Area), at the beautiful Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center. With the meeting being so close we hope to send as many VHF community members as possible using our VHF travel award via the Terry Lamb Scholarship!
NHF’s BDC features educational sessions, poster abstract presentations, industry symposia, networking and social events, and exhibits. A lineup of dynamic speakers who provide essential information and insights on the evolving landscape in this exciting new era of treatment for hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and rare bleeding disorders. VHF travel award for NHF’s BDC: VHF’s Terry Lamb Enrichment Scholarship awards can be used to cover costs for the NHF BDC. Typical award amounts are in the range of $250 – $500 per person (not to exceed $2,000 per family). You will be responsible for meals and other incidentals.

VHF travel award eligibility: These scholarships were designed for individuals living with an inherited bleeding disorder and their immediate family and/or household members. Applicants must have participated in VHF activities and live in the territorial jurisdiction of VHF; which include the Commonwealth of Virginia, with exception of the following: The cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Herndon, Manassas, Manassas Park, and Vienna and the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudon, Prince William and Stafford
VHF travel award guidelines: Scholarship recipients will be determined through a review process conducted by volunteers on the VHF Scholarship Committee. Scholarships are limited to funding availability and priority/special consideration is given to: First time applicants and those individuals not previously funded by VHF, Individuals diagnosed with an inherited bleeding disorder, Individuals who have volunteered and/or are an active participant of VHF, Those individuals who are clearly able to communicate a need and would benefit from participating in such a program, Applicant’s intention to make effective use of the program (write an article for the newsletter or speak about the experience at an upcoming VHF event).
