Since 1949, Mental Health America (MHA) and their affiliates have observed May as Mental Health Month. Now, more than ever, it is critical to reduce the stigma around mental health struggles, because that stigma often prevents individuals from seeking help. In 2021, the theme for Mental Health Month is Tools 2 Thrive, and MHA is providing a toolkit with practical information that everyone can use to improve their mental health and increase their resiliency regardless of their personal situation. Our national partners Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) and the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) are joining together in a new partnership called the Together Project. Through the Together Project, HFA and NHF will work collaboratively on important issues that affect the bleeding disorders community. Their first collaboration is focused on mental health and wellness in the bleeding disorders community, raising awareness, providing resources, and sharing coordinated messaging. Check out the NHF Facebook page for a weekly meditation series hosted by NHF’s Jhon Velasco, on Facebook Live every Tuesday at 1 pm EST and go here for HFA’s quick links to mental health resources.
