It was a rainy fall day on Sunday, October 20th at our event, but we gathered and celebrated success together despite the weather and had a fantastic time! Thank you so much to all of you who braved the weather and traveled to our second annual Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk-Richmond. Go here to see photos from the event.
Congratulations! The final numbers are in, and we are so impressed! Overall, you raised $17,144 with expected matching gifts coming in -this is a 16% increase in fundraising from last year’s walk! You exceeded our goal of $16,000 from participants and we are so very grateful.
With sponsorship, this year’s Unite Walk is set to raise $39,644! If you still have donations coming in, that is great! We can accept them toward this year’s walk until the end of the year.
From hosting in-person events as diverse as a fishing tournament, school walkathon, and paint night—to using the power of your social media networks to fundraise, it was an amazing effort from this community to UNITE together and raise funds for camp, scholarships, and advocacy—and your donations and hard work will go very far.
A special thank you goes out to all over the teams that raised over $1,000—your efforts propelled us to our goal and we could not have reached it without your hard work and dedication:
  • Star City Bleeders
  • Spazvengers
  • The Pollock Boys
  • The Marianettes
  • Team Lukasz
  • Team Severe Type A-wesome
We also want to especially thank all who reached Factor Club, raising $500 or more on their individual pages:
  • Temesha Pollock
  • Matthew Lee
  • Steve Spasojevich
  • Marian Kshetrapal
  • Vivek Kshetrapal
  • Monika Eiden
  • Colin Davidson
  • Krista Davidson
  • Elizabeth Welshonce
We cannot forget to thank our volunteer team, both committee members and day-of volunteers, for all their hard work. Thank you to committee members Kevin O’Connor, Temesha Pollock, Marquita Reinhardt, and Monika Eiden. And a big thank you to our event-day volunteers and those who helped in advance of the event: Kevin O’Connor; Daniel & Paxton Calder, Jackie and Troy Jamison, Sarah Waniewski, Megan Whiteaker, Lamont Banks, Sarahbeth and Jackson Spasojevich, Russ & Max Kaiser, Sasha Jean-Noel, Pat DeRatto, Karen Jackman, Zack Bordone and the Mortimer family!
We also cannot forget our local and national event sponsors, without which this event would not have happened! SAVE THE DATE: UNITE WALK 2020 will be on October 25th at Stony Point Fashion Park!
