VHF Welcomes Two New Board Members: Katherine Mortimer and Krista Davidson

The Virginia Hemophilia Foundation (VHF) is proud to welcome two outstanding individuals to our Board of Directors: Katherine “Kathy” Mortimer of Henrico and Krista Davidson of Roanoke. Each brings a unique blend of experience, passion, and commitment to serving the bleeding disorders community in Virginia.

Katherine Mortimer has been a dedicated VHF volunteer and leader for more than a decade. She has previously served on the Board of Directors, including terms as Treasurer and President. Katherine holds two Master of Science degrees from Virginia Tech – one in Curriculum & Instruction and another in Entomology – as well as a B.S. in Biology from James Madison University. With prior nonprofit leadership experience at the Maymont Foundation and Three Chopt Recreation Club, Katherine brings deep organizational knowledge and a heart for service. Her continued commitment to VHF’s mission reflects her belief in the power of community, advocacy, and education to support individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders.

Krista Davidson, a registered nurse at Carilion Clinic, brings over two decades of healthcare experience with a focus on oncology, palliative care, and now occupational medicine. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is pursuing a Master of Public Administration to expand her impact in health policy and nonprofit governance. Krista and her family have been active with VHF for more than ten years – as Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk fundraisers, advocates, and community members. She currently serves on VHF’s Advocacy Committee and has participated in numerous Richmond and Washington Days events. Krista’s strong values, extensive clinical background, and deep personal connection to the community make her a powerful addition to the board.

Please join us in welcoming Kathy and Krista! We are grateful for their leadership and excited for all they will bring to VHF in the years ahead.

Thank You for Your Board Service: Tory Gilliam and Carla Boucher

The Virginia Hemophilia Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Tory Gilliam and Carla Boucher as they complete their terms on the VHF Board of Directors.

Tory Gilliam recently completed his six-year term, serving with dedication and consistency as Board Secretary for several years. Tory played an active role on both the Scholarship Committee and the 50th Anniversary Celebration Committee. His leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to VHF’s mission have left a lasting impact. While his term on the board may be ending, we are grateful knowing that Tory will continue to stay involved as a valued volunteer and community member.

Carla Boucher also concludes her service on the Board, where she represented individuals with platelet disorders and brought an essential perspective to our work. Carla’s contributions on the Strategic Planning Committee, the 50th Anniversary Committee, and at countless VHF events were deeply appreciated. Her thoughtful insights, steady presence, and commitment to quality care made her an invaluable part of our leadership.

We are deeply thankful to both Tory and Carla for their years of service, and we look forward to their continued involvement in the VHF community.
