Virginia Hemophilia Foundation held its annual spring fundraiser, Hope Blooms, on April 22nd at the Boathouse at Rockett’s Landing in Richmond, Virginia. The gorgeous James River and a beautiful spring day was the backdrop as 100 guests gathered in celebration of the season and to raise funds for the VHF mission of serving and supporting the needs of those impacted by a bleeding disorder through education, advocacy and community.
Participants played raffle games including “Heads or Tails” and enjoyed heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails while bidding on an amazing variety of silent auction items. The program featured a lively and exciting live auction for the first time ever, and an incredible speaker and our Hemophilia Hero, Sarabeth Spasojevich, who shared her family’s story and connected the audience with our mission and programs.
Our efforts collectively raised nearly $35,000 towards our mission, and we are thrilled to have doubled our donations from last year received on the day of the event! Thanks so much to all of our community who made this possible—from our event committee who spent hours getting us organized and collecting donations, to the wonderful businesses and people who donated auction items, to attendees who were so generous with their time and donations, and finally, to our sponsors who allowed us to use such a wonderful event space—we are so very grateful.
