After 42 ½ years at CHKD and 24 in the Bleeding Disorders Program, Kim Stewart is retiring on December 21, 2018. Kim has been a staple in the bleeding disorders community and has been a lifeline to many of the patients and families of kids with bleeding disorders in Hampton Roads. Kim has been active in not only the state but also the region in developing and improving life for persons with bleeding disorders. Kim will be missed greatly but we know she will be very happy in her future endeavors of becoming a master gardener. We wish Kim the best of luck and hope she knows that she can never be replaced!
The new bleeding disorder program nurse coordinator will be Ashley Hunt. Ashley is a native of Virginia and has been a nurse at CHKD for 11 years with a break when she was in Texas where she worked in oncology. For the past 1 1/2 years, Ashley has been caring for hematology patients in the clinic at CHKD and is looking forward to getting to know the bleeding disorder patients better. Ashley brings some new energy and passion to the program and hopes to grow the program and work to improve the lives of the patients we serve. Ashley is eager to hit the ground running and get to know as much as she can about the bleeding disorder community in Virginia. Welcome Ashley!
