Caitlin Tolson
Program and Communications Manager
Caitlin Tolson is the Program and Communications Manager at the Virginia Bleeding Disorders Foundation. She brings nearly a decade of experience in nonprofit operations, volunteer engagement, and program coordination, with a passion for creating meaningful experiences that strengthen communities. Throughout her career, Caitlin has led initiatives spanning event planning, communications, operations, and member support, always with a focus on building relationships and ensuring people feel welcomed and connected. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies with a concentration in Social Justice and a minor in Anthropology, Caitlin is passionate about advancing equitable access to resources and fostering inclusive communities. She is excited to support individuals and families across Virginia through educational programs, advocacy, and opportunities to connect.
Paxton Mills
Community Outreach and Advocacy Coordinator
Paxton graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Richmond. She has been a volunteer with VABDF since 2018 with involvement including on-site event support, communications, and advocacy committee work. With the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF), Paxton served as a member of the National Youth Leadership Institute (NYLI), youth representative on the Board of Directors, and member of the Bleeding Disorders Conference (BDC) Planning Committee. Currently, she is a speaker and research co-author with NBDF. In 2026, she was named a Susan Skinner Scholar by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and Christine Lee Young Researcher Award nominee. Paxton is passionate about improving outcomes and quality of life for all individuals living with bleeding disorders, particularly females and those living with rare conditions through research, education, and advocacy. She is excited to advance VABDF’s mission of supporting the greater bleeding disorders community and beyond.
