Scholarship Applications Due: Lyman Fisher and NHF Bleeding Disorders Conference

All parts of the applications must be emailed to VHF by midnight, May 1st.

LYMAN FISHER:The VHF Lyman Fisher Scholarship was established to honor Dr. Lyman Fisher; a teacher, researcher, and clinician in hemostasis who for many years directed the adult hemophilia program in Virginia. 

Award: One-year award in the amount of $2,000 for a full academic year

Eligibility: The scholarship was designed for individuals living with an inherited bleeding disorder, their sibling(s) or their parents and may be used at any accredited non profit college, university, or vocational/technical school in the United States and is to be applied toward educational expenses. Applicants must have participated in VHF activities and live in the territorial jurisdiction of VHF.

VHF NATIONAL MEETINGS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: VHF is pleased to offer scholarships to attend national meetings. National meetings enable our community to come together and exchange information on a wide variety of topics, from the basics of diagnosis to the most relevant developments in treatment and technology. It is the premier opportunity for networking and support for individuals and families affected by inherited bleeding disorders. 

Eligibility: These scholarships were designed for individuals living with an inherited bleeding disorder and their immediate family and/or household members. Applicants must have participated in VHF activities and live in the territorial jurisdiction of VHF. See each application for more eligibility information.

Meeting: National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) Bleeding Disorders Conference in Anaheim, CA on October 3-5, 2019

Award for Individuals and Families Scholarship: Scholarships will cover airfare/mileage, hotel accommodations, and national meeting registration fees. Not to exceed a total of $2,000. You will be responsible for all meals and other incidentals.

Award for Teens and Young Adults (Age 15-24) Scholarship: Scholarships will cover airfare/mileage, hotel accommodations, and the national meeting registration fee. Not to exceed a total of $1,000. You will be responsible for all meals and other incidentals, as well as the costs of any traveling companion and/or parent or guardian. Individuals under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
