First Step Program for New Families – Richmond

First Step Program is designed to support families of infants and young children with hemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders with community connection and education. This program is for families with children who have been diagnosed with an inherited bleeding disorder in the last 7 years.
Educational Lunch: Meet at 11:00 am at Maggiano’s Italian Restaurant at Short Pump Town Center 11800 West Broad St., Richmond, VA 23233 (between Dillard’s and Nordstrom) for lunch and education on self-infusion.
Presenter: Jan Kuhn, RN, MPH, Program Manager, Central Virginia Center for Coagulation Disorders, Virginia Bleeding Disorders Program
Educational Activity: The kids will get to make an “infusion buddy” while the adults get the opportunity to build relationships, receive support, network and learn more about bleeding disorders.
Location: Build-A-Bear Workshop, 11800 W Broad St #1024, Richmond, VA 23233, Level 1 near Nordstrom
There is no cost to attend and space is limited.This event is for individuals with an inherited bleeding disorder and their immediate family/household members only.
