From August 13 – 15, the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF) hosted their annual Bleeding Disorders Conference (BDC) in Orlando, Florida. Alongside consumers, advocates, providers, and leaders, VABDF community members immersed themselves in a conference full of learning, connection, and hope.
Alongside staff, travel grant recipients headed south to gather with the national bleeding disorders community. From iron deficiency and women’s health to gene therapy and research participation, BDC’s educational sessions this year highlighted a variety of contemporary issues. Between panel discussions, networking hours, and everyday conversations happening in conference center hallways, we left Orlando with fresh ideas, relationships, and renewed energy and excitement to continue advancing the needs of the bleeding disorders community both locally and nationally. We can’t wait to implement all we learned at our next community gathering at Great Wolf Lodge later this month!
If you are interested in attending BDC in August 2027, please stay tuned. The meeting will take place in National Harbor, Maryland. The 2027 BDC Travel Grant will open in early 2027. We plan to send as many community members as we can since it will be so close to our chapter coverage area.
