VHF is offering Travel Grants through the Terry Lamb Enrichment Scholarship, providing community members with the opportunity to attend the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF) Bleeding Disorders Conference (BDC) in Aurora-Denver, Colorado, from August 21 to 23, 2025.

National meetings like NBDF’s BDC bring together individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders to learn about the latest advancements in treatment and care. Attendees will have access to educational sessions, industry symposia, networking events, and exhibits, all designed to provide valuable information and resources.

This conference is a unique opportunity to connect with experts and peers while gaining insights into the evolving landscape of treatment for hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, and rare bleeding disorders. Daniel Abraham, a past scholarship recipient shared:

“When I first filled out the application, what I had hoped to gain from the experience was an education I had been partially neglecting most of my life. Well, I found that and learned a great deal. I stand fascinated by the advances our medical technology is making and look forward to the future of treatment. As I reflected on my time at the conference during my flight home however, what I actually discovered is that I had gained a few things I hadn’t expected to find; a sense of community, responsibility, and obligation to those in the bleeding disorder family. Things I never realized I was missing. In many ways I was already headed in this direction in a desire to help with advocacy efforts, but this conference has catalyzed my decision to be involved on a deeper level. As a direct result of going, I am involved in multiple conversations with people in the industry and bleeding disorder community on how I can help others like me who have hemophilia or similar disorders. As you probably know, this was my first national event and I’m already planning for and eagerly anticipating the next meeting a year from now.”

The application deadline for the VHF Travel Grant is Friday, April 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Applications can be submitted online via JotForm, and a PDF version is available for download.
